No tool, apparatus, or thing has any power of it's own. Only potential.

It represents something. When it comes to spirituality, no phyiscal thing actually does anything for you. It is your mind that does all the work. Whatever thing you work with is a point of focus to keep your mind and attention on what you are trying to experience or accomplish.

It helps you channel your energy. Because we are bio-electric, energy conduits, we have the potential to be swayed in many different ways by the thoughts and spiritual energies that come our way.

Tools can help you stay focused.

The danger here is becoming dependent on that tool to do the work for you, instead of allowing it to help you train yourself to be able to perform certain energetic or spiritual works on your own.

So use your tools. Get excited about them. Don't let someone tell you it's evil. Everything is detrimental or harmful in excess. Recognize when you're turning to it more than yourself and Spirit.
